Based on historical facts recorded that Prince Ouchi Yoshioki welcomed Ashikaga Yoshitane, the 10th shogun of the Muromachi shogunate, to this site and feasted at the biggest feast in the Middle Ages, it was arranged and recreated in a modern style with the feast of the former Ashikaga shogunate at that time. Guests will be asked to wear original Muromachi-style costumes and march about 1 km from Yamaguchi City Saikotei to the ruins of the Ouchi Clan House (Ryufukuji) in the Oden area, where a total of about 20 people from the former shogun and the Ouchi clan left a historic atmosphere. Also, one of our customers will play the role of shogun riding a white horse. After the Onari procession, you will move to the scenic spot Sansuien located in the Yuda Onsen area, and enjoy the “Ouchi Gozen,” which faithfully recreates the cuisine that the lord of Ouchi entertained the Ashikaga former shogun while appreciating Yamaguchi's traditional performing arts (koto music set or kyogen) just like a banquet at the time. According to historical materials, more than 110 dishes have been recorded, and customers can enjoy a selection of dishes from among them.
